Chat-rooms
Now chat-rooms, that's a type of communication used for adults. Chat-rooms are different types of communication where they can talk to a certain amount of people who have the same interest (figure 3). There is fun to chat-rooms. You can pick what room you want to be in! You get to decide how many people you want to talk to and you can also decide if you want to go into a chat-room with people who have the same interest.
Instant Messaging
Instant messaging is something more commonly used for kids your age. It is very simple chatting with one other person. You get to make up your own cool username so everyone can see it and recognize you by that name. You would love it! You can change the color and font to whatever you are feeling. It is an easy way to talk with friends without having me! You can pull it up on your home computer and chat away with your friends. It is a free online communication that is informal and perfect for kids like you.

Social Media
Lastly, we have the ever so popular, social media. Social media can be used on me or on the computer. This is such a large form of online communication lately. There are so many different kinds of social media and all of them are able to show different ways of communication such as pictures, statuses, messaging, etc. Some different type of social media are Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram,etc (figure 4). Each vary what they have on their site. For example, Instagram shows pictures and you can like it or comment on it. You scroll down and see lots of different peoples pictures. Hey! Do you guys know which social media is most used? Think real hard...Facebook it is! Facebook allows the users to post statues, share pictures, message each other, like statues, comment, etc. It is very popular. Social Media in general are very important in today's society. It is becoming more the way people communicate with. You can even get social media on me! All different kinds of cell phones have places where you can download apps. Then you can use me some more and communicate some more!

Okay kids, I hope I taught you a lot about online communication today. It sure is very important and someday your generation will be involved in it. Remember the 4 types of communication e-mail, chat-rooms, instant messaging, and social media! Now goodbye kids and have a nice day (look at figure 5 Shelly is saying goodbye).
