Let’s
Learn About Organic Farming!
What does organic mean?
Organic means that something is all natural and doesn't have anything bad added into it.
Why should you eat organic foods?
Have you ever been to the grocery store with your mom or dad? If yes, have you been in the area with fruits and vegetables? There are two types of vegetables and fruits, one kind is the good kind, the other is the bad kind. The BAD kind are the ones that you have to wash off before eating. The GOOD kind are the ones that say, “Organic” on the label. Make sure your mom and dad get the good kind before leaving the grocery store.
Want to know why
organic food is better for you? One reason is that organic food is NOT sprayed with fake bug
spray (fake bug spray can make you very sick). Organic grown
food uses lady bugs to fight off bugs that could hurt the crops. The crops
are the fruits and vegetables.
Have you ever
driven by a field and seen a big tractor driving around? Well those big
tractors aren’t very good for the Earth. Organic foods are planted and grown with
hand tools that farmers use instead of those big tractors. These farmers also use
a lot of renewable resources. What are renewable resources? Renewable resources
are things that can be replaced naturally and used again. These kind of
resources are good for the Earth. Oxygen, which is the air you breathe every
day, fresh water, which comes from rain in the clouds that lands in lakes and
rivers, and even energy from the sun are renewable resources.
Organic food is
not only good for the Earth that you live on but it’s also a lot better for the
body you live in. Next time you go to the store with your mommy or daddy make
sure you remind them to say NO to the bad foods and YES to the good organic
foods!
