Cara Sweeney

Hello!
My name is Cara Sweeney. I live about 3 hours west of Bloomsburg in Johnstown, PA. I'm a freshman and I am a American Sign Language/English Interpreting major.

I am in the Pennsylvaina Army National Guard. I completed basic combat training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina in the summer of 2014 after my junior year of high school. After completing basic training, I came back to Pennsylvaina to complete my senior year of high school. Once I graduated from high school, I went back down to Fort Jackson for my MOS, or job training. My MOS is a human resource specialist (42A). Unfortunately, my job as a human resource specialist is no longer available at my unit, so I will be reclassing to military police (31B) this summer. I am now in the ROTC program at Bloomsburg and plan to become an officer in the National Guard.

I also enjoy softball and marching band. I've played softball since I was seven years old. My favorite postions to play are first base, third base, and center field. When I was in marching band, I participated in colorguard for two years during my 7th and 8th grade years. I then switched over to flute my freshman year of high school and became my band's drum major my senior year. My brother was in IUP's marching band for two years, so I enjoy watching their band eventhough he isn't in it anymore. Here's a show that my brother preformed in.

My favorite sports teams are the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins. My favorite player in the NHL is Tom Wilson of the Washington Capitals. I also like the Johnstown Tomahawks of the North American Hockey Leauge. I attend almost every Tomahawks game with my boyfriend.

Sincerely,
Cara Sweeney
